	Texas Legislators Working to make Gas more Affordable ~ Suspension of State Gas Tax a Possibilty~

	For the past month, Americans have been waking up to skyrocketing gas prices. They have also been hearing from Senator John McCain and Senator Hillary Clinton about lessening our financial burden at the pump. These are not new ideas in Texas. One year ago, State Representative Trey Martinez Fischer (D- San Antonio) proposed a Gas Tax Holiday that was passed twice nearly unanimously out of the Texas House of Representatives before being derailed by Texas Senate Republicans. The 90 day holiday would have saved Texas motorists three-quarters of billion dollars.
